It’s time we understand that these 3 powerful forces can and must work together instead of against each other. It’s time we understand how they work together. Now is the time for this understanding because we are fed up and broke down. Now is the time because we are longing for something else. Now is the time because we desperately crave peace.
The “Mind” realm is our “masculine” realm. It’s the part of all of us, as individuals and societies, that hunts for answers, discovers new ways of thinking, innovates, and moves us forward.
The “Body” realm is our “feminine” realm. It’s the part of all of us, as individuals and societies, that feels deeply and boldly so that we can express our stories and our ideas, and make and maintain creative and constructive relationships with folks around us.
Our traumatic legacy of celebrating everything that is “masculine” in our society while rejecting all that is “feminine” has sent us out of balance and sacrificed our Soul. Our “Soul” realm is that extremely powerful force where the “masculine” and “feminine” meet…where we are quiet and still and do the work of becoming our best selves.
We can only achieve peace by bringing our “Body” realm back in balance with our “Mind” realm. Spiritual Leaders do their best to help us strengthen our souls. But they can’t do it by themselves. Scientists and Scholars do they best to help us strengthen our minds. But, all this work might be in vain if we can’t figure out how all of this advancement plays a part in healing broken hearts and broken homes, blighted communities, and fallen nations.
I call on my fellow Artists to take our rightful place as the leaders of the “Body” realm. The world is calling on us to bring it back in balance. We must offer opportunities for folks to learn how to notice and express their feelings in healthy ways. We must create spaces for folks to learn how to interact and practice being together in peaceful & powerful ways. We must teach folks how to access and express their own personal stories and then find the connections between their stories and the stories of folks who appear to be very different from them. We must help folks understand how to make bold choices, notice the result, and make a different choice. We must teach folks how to seek every possible angle of a every possible shape. We must encourage folks to understand when and how to integrate inclusion/interconnection/cooperation into their lives and systems just as strongly as righteousness/independence/competition.
This is the work I have been called to do. And this is a big job. I need us all to work together. Please join me.
